Kim Kevin de Dood

Chef de Cuisine

Born and raised in Luxembourg, Chef Kim Kevin de Dood discovered his interest in cooking at a tender age of three. From preparing simple dishes for his family, he progressed to helping out at a restaurant of a family friend when he turned 13. Thereafter, Kim Kevin pursued his studies at Lycée Technique et Hôtelier, majoring in restaurant and hotel management.

A brief stint at the Three MICHELIN-Starred l’Arnsbourg at Baerenthal gave Kim Kevin his first taste of gastronomy. In 2010, the 18-year-old joined Two MICHELIN-Starred restaurant, Becker’s, as Chef de Partie. Subsequently, Chef Alain and Michel Roux of The Waterside Inn, a Three MICHELIN-Starred restaurant in Bray, United Kingdom, took him under their wings. Within two years, he progressed through the stations of garde manger, amuse bouche, butchery and saucier as a Chef de Partie. He then worked as Chef de Partie at the progressive vegetable-based Hertog Jan restaurant located in Zedelgem, Belgium.

His career path took him to Europe, Asia, and finally Singapore, where he joined Saint Pierre in 2015 as Chef de Partie. Chef-Owner Emmanuel Stroobant saw his potential and promoted him to Head Chef after five months. In 2018, he was appointed Chef de Cuisine to helm the kitchen at its Kuala Lumpur branch.

It was not long before the call of national duty beckoned when Kim Kevin was approached by the Luxembourg government to contribute to his country’s culinary landscape. With Chef Emmanuel’s blessings, he took a temporary detour to his home country in 2019. He joined Ecole d’Hotellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg, a hotel and tourism school, as Teacher and Executive Chef. There, he trained a team of over 30 students to prepare for the opening of Schengen Lounge restaurant at Luxembourg Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai, serving foreign guests and VIPs from around the world.

The opportune time has come for Kim Kevin to return to the Saint Pierre family in 2022 where he is now the Chef de Cuisine. The 30-year-old speaks Luxemburgish, French, German and Dutch fluently.
